Hi! My name is Nikita Parakala, and I am this year’s shadow Vice President of Bret Harte. I am a Sophomore, and have been doing speech and debate since 6th grade, with my main event being POI. I play on the Varsity girls tennis team, I love to read, I like to sing, and I love to hike with my family. Speech and debate definitely changed my life, and inspired me to speak up and use my voice for good. I absolutely love the program, and found family in it. Stories of lives and real struggles inspire me and make me want to bring attention to them. And nothing fascinates me more than the power of prose, poetry, research, and real stories. I am so proud of our Leland speech and debate family and I have no doubt we will do great things this season. :) Charge on!
