State Qualifications 1 - Reminder
Submitted by Stephen Zhang on Thu, 02/26/2009 - 21:46Just a reminder to everyone going to State Quals 1 that it is at Bellarmine, NOT Westmont. I'm sure Mrs. Brasher has stated this several times and now that it is up here on the Leland SD site, there will be no excuses.
Good luck to everybody!
Berkeley Reminder!
Submitted by Stephen Zhang on Tue, 02/10/2009 - 18:09This is the reminder to all students about rules and other misc. items of importance. If you would like to print a copy of these out, then click here. If you'd like information about the Berkeley schedule, then click here.
Dear Student,
This letter has specific information about the Berkley Tournament.
1. Be sure to pack rain gear. Expos-ers, protect your visuals from the rain.
2. We are staying at the Hotel Durant-2600 Durant Avenue, 94720. The phone number is (510) 845-8981.
3. Debaters-Rooms have been reserved for you on Friday night. Please do not arrive at the hotel before 8 pm.
4. IE-ers and Congress participants, leave your luggage at the hotel when you arrive. (Maybe your rooms will be ready then??) Meet Mrs. Brasher in the lobby of the Dwinelle Hall at 1:15 pm Saturday.
5. Be alert when walking to and from the campus. Walk in groups!! After your rounds, walk with other competitors!! After dark, you cannot go to eat on your own!! You must go with a chaperone. No student may be alone in a hotel room with a student of the opposite sex. No Leland student may be in a hotel room with a student from another school. You must check with Mrs. Brasher, Mr. Edwards, or Chris first for exceptions to this rule for practice and work.
6. Students may not drive other students to and from Berkeley!! The Durant charges an additional $20 fee per night to park a car. That is not covered in your hotel fee. If you park a car at the hotel, the fee will be billed to you.
7. Do not leave the tournament on Sunday evening or Monday until you have checked out with Mrs. Brasher or another chaperone. All students must follow the Leland and San Jose Unified School District’s standards for behavior.
8. Practice! Practice! Practice!
- Gay Brasher
